Empi Baryeh called it a sweet romance. Kj Charles said “i’m definitely in!”
The only negative reviews I’ve had have been from white americans who don’t realise that chattel slavery was so, so much worse than nearly every other form throughout history, and also don’t realise their own working class (especially non-white and deliberately marginalised working class) often live in worse working conditions than actual slaves which is a bit of a point I’m trying to make clear.
Now, did I feel bitter about them describing my workplace romance Her Golden Eyes like a Sheikh romance? Yes.
Did I maybe have the hero of the second one, Malik, appear to be a slave trader while actually rescuing slaves?
Yes.
Is that gonna bite me in the ass when they only read chapter one and run to review?
Maybe.
Look, I never said I was sensible…
And as ever… remember, if you are an African author or of African descent and you have historical books in you, try LoveAfricaPress! I want to be supplanted!
